Chrystal-Anael Rose Erie Obituary
Austin, TX - Chrystal was born in Trappes, France. Despite being born with a heart defect and undergoing two surgeries as an infant, she was able to return home at three months old. Her family moved back to the United States when she was three years old, where she grew up alongside her brother, who is 19 months her senior.
The family lived on Hart Lane as Chrystal attended Doss Elementary, Murchison Middle School, and Anderson High School. She later transferred to McCallum High School, where she graduated in 2010.
At age 17, Chrystal moved into a group home at her own request. She was a longtime member of the ARC of the Capital of Texas, where she flourished as an artist. Chrystal sold several of her paintings and was known for her immense generosity, often gifting her artwork to others—including her cardiologist—as tokens of gratitude or comfort. She was a sweet, innocent, and brave soul who welcomed everyone with open arms. Her favorite hobbies included talking on the phone and shopping for jewelry, clothes, and accessories.
Chrystal was admitted to the emergency room at St. David's Medical Center on February 4, 2026. She was transferred to the ICU and diagnosed with Influenza A and pneumonia. She passed away peacefully on February 5 at 2:05 a.m.
She is survived by her mother, Chantal Erie; her father, Ralph Erie; her brother, Raphael Erie; her sister-in-law, Ana Erie; and her niece, Eleanor Erie.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
