Austin, TX - Gregory Lee Jones of Austin, Texas, passed from this life March 6, 2026, the result of a sudden cardiac event. He is survived by his brother Rik (Jo-i), nephews Ansel and Ben, and nieces Anna (Doug), Jasmine, Robin (Zach), and Hazel. Aunts Ellen and Nellie, Uncle Bob (Marcia), numerous cousins, and sister-in-law Barbara join in missing him. Greg was predeceased by his

beloved parents, Harold and Jessa, and his brothers David, Jim, and Chris. Greg was also preceded in death by his estranged wife, Vida.

Greg was a 1980 graduate of Lake Highlands High School in Dallas, TX and was a member of Fantastic Cinema Productions, as well as a National Merit Scholarship Finalist. He attended UT and ACC. Greg had varied jobs before settling into more than 25 years with the Texas Legislative Council as a computer specialist. He is also remembered from his years as "Psycho Jones" in various Austin bands, including "Hair Trouble" and "Go Devils," and his cooking duties at Kerbey Lane. He was an avid drummer.
